About Us
A Tradition of Serving
Daugherty's Tax Service began in the early 50's at the homestead of Arthur "Blue" Daugherty on Lee St. here in Greenville, Texas. Tom Chennault, his son in-law began his tax career in the late 60's while working for a Financial firm. Tom and his late wife bought the business from Mr. Daugherty in the 1987 and merged the client base. The business remained at the homestead until 2009 when it was relocated to the location on Wesley St. Over the years the business has grown and today, Tom, his wife Joy, son Kyle and our newest teammate Itzel Flores work as a team not only serving Hunt County and surrounding counties but also serve loyal customers in 30+ states. With this rich history Daugherty's Tax Service has served several generations of customers. We are also proud to serve as a generational tax team now and for generations to come.
YOUR TAX TEAM
The senior tax person is Tom with 56 years in the business, who mentors and trains everyone in the office. His son Kyle came full time 10 years ago. Before that he helped part time for 10 years. Kyle has a business degree from A&M Commerce. Tom's wife Joy has worked full time for the past 11 years. Previously, 25 years experience in the financial field, helping people with insurance and investments. Introducing our newest team member Itzel Flores. Itzel has over 16 years of experience in the financial field. Her expertise is in client relations, staff supervision and operational management. She is strong in leading teams and enhancing operational efficiencies. She is the point person at the office,bilingual and will also provide Notary services. The team keeps current with changes in tax laws and completes Continuing Education required.
EXPERIENCE
Tom has always had a remarkable acumen for the tax business. With that ability coming so easily it has provided an enjoyable career working with the numbers and helping people get the most they deserve. Because of his attention to detail and care for his clients, Tom spends time explaining why and how things work for that individual. People can walk out of our office knowing we are looking out for their best interest. Tom is a Registered Tax Return Preparer with over 50 years experience.
